Dear Rough Rider Students and Families,
Welcome to Longcoy Elementary!
At Longcoy, we believe in the Kent City School’s Mission of “Every Child… Every Chance… Every Day.” Our school strives to support the academic and non-academic needs of the whole child, and we are excited about the upcoming year of learning. As principal of Longcoy, I am fortunate to work with a team of educators who work tirelessly to help all children succeed. We are eager to learn about the unique qualities of our Longcoy students, and to help each one of them reach their fullest potential. Our students are our number one priority!
As we gear up for the 2026-27 school year, we look forward to activities such as Kindergarten Kickoff, Meet the Teacher Night, and the Longcoy Family Picnic. These events are only the beginning of what is to come!
We will continue to use our PALS Principles as the framework for PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). These principles (outlined below) are the guidelines that are followed by every student, staff, and guest in our building. Our goal is to achieve even greater success during the 2026-27 school year, as we continue to celebrate the positive choices of our students.
I ask that you continue to stay connected with our school through the use of Parent Square, social media, and this website. You are your child’s first teacher, and we look forward to working together with you as a team. Every student’s experience is made better through this partnership!
